ALBUM REVIEW - ‘IN THIS PLACE‘

Here is an album review by Simon Ashby on our new album 'in this place', you can get it from here: www.nlightenonline.co.uk/shop/ ----

Midlands band NlighteN demonstrate their coming of age as Coldplay meets Delirious to cry ‘Indie Music has finally arrived‘ courtesy of this incomparable range of generational anthems that combine an unequivocal blend of lyrical excellence and spiritual anointing which will leave you gasping for more.

Bands who sense the mood of a generation before launching themselves into the public eye are the ones whose legacy lasts a lifetime. Through ‘In this Place’, NlighteN have done this by providing a cataclysmic collection of indie-based worship. Iconic front man Tim Barton lauds ‘There are so few Indie bands in Christian music and we want to pioneer this genre, so many young Christians love this music but have nowhere to turn to for worship.’ This album will transport those very people to a place they have never been before and when they land safely from this journey of a lifetime, they will be breathless, dazed and overcome with the power of God. The album has been layered perfectly and some of the riffs are quite simply sensational, with soon-to-be Indie anthem ‘Struggle, the luminously written ‘In this Place’ and the excellent ‘Heart of Mine’ offering a rich combination of sounds that cause you to melt into an overwhelming presence of the true nature of the Father. Each wonderfully crafted ensemble talks about understanding that we do not earn our salvation and that God has allowed us to be in a place with him through Jesus. This album shows this perspective in a revolutionary way. Barton says: "These songs are our message to a generation, a message that says we know they will fall short of Gods standards but urges them to rest in confidence, knowing they have a great hope in Christ.’ It is this message that echoes across each lyric. There is no falseness to it, and if you are high this will take you higher, if you feel low this will lift you up. This is the complete album!

"We want to help pioneer the Christian movement that is happening across our region and by building up a community of people who believe in our songs, we can do just that." Tim Barton, Lead Vocalist, NlighteN
